Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) on May 20 said its attention was seriously drawn towards news reports claiming that an Italian lady, who entered Tibet via Nepal, was confirmed to have caught swine flu in China.
TAAN has clarified that no cases of swine flu has been traced in Nepal so far. “Chinese authorities have confirmed that the Italian lady did not test positive for swine flu virus A (H1N1) and that all travelers have been asked to continue with their travel programmes,” TAAN said.
A few days ago Chinese authorities had put 20 international travelers, who entered Tibet via Nepal, in quarantine suspecting them of catching the deadly virus.
TAAN has also requested all concerned no to panic from such misleading reports. ......
