Nepal/Dolpo region

This region located in the central west of the country, the focal point of the area is the Shey Phoksundo National Park. The remote and rugged protected area is both scenically and culturally attractive. The Dolpo region is the natural embodiment of high passes, rare flora and fauna, and sheeping vistas, which is enriched by the traditional Tibetan cultural heritage. This region surrounded by Dhaulagiri and Tibet from south and north. It was opened 1991 for trekking. This region lies on the north side of Himalayas, it is also rain shadow area and the climatic situation of this place is same as Mustang.

The trekking season for both Upper and Lower Dolpo is generally from June to September.In this trek, the maximum elevation will be 4,530 meters to 5,115 meters and is one of the most arduous treks of the country.
