The start of this tour begins with a warm welcome at the Kathmandu airport. Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. As arrival time of clients may be different we do not plan any special program for this day. Clients are free to travel on their own in the busy and interesting streets of Kathmandu. In the afternoon Mac Tours and Travels (Your travel agent) will organize a group meeting where your guide for the tour will give you the information on the trip.
At 8 am after breakfast, we start our drive to the rafting starting point. We leave the Kathmandu Valley in around half hour (depending on the traffic) and drive the scenic and interesting highway to the rafting starting point Charaudi. After changing our dress for the rafting your rafting guide gives a safety briefing and the techniques of handling your paddle. The rafting is for 3 hours and a light lunch will be served in between. The drive from rafting ending point to Chitwan National Park is around 3 hours. Afternoon is free to explore the park side area. Welcome dinner is served in the evening with cultural dance from local people.
The jungle tour starts with elephant ride in the morning. Canoeing, jungle walk, elephant breeding center visit and local village visit are the highlights of the day. If one is lucky you can see the Royal Bengal tiger in the wild during the elephant ride or jungle walk. You should be very careful during the jungle walk as the bushes are normally high and there can be chances one horned rhinos are nearby. We return back to our resort for overnight.
Early in the morning our Nature guide takes you for a bird watching tour. Chitwan is also famous for more than 500 species of birds. After breakfast we start our drive to Lumbini.
Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, is situated about 22 km. from Bhairahawa (Siddharthanagar), below the Churia range, 24 km. south from the foothills of the Himalayas, on the western bank of Telar river in Rupandehi district of Lumbini zone in Nepal. It is about 300 km. west of capital city Kathmandu. Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and Nawalparasi Terai districts of Lumbini Zone are around Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, which are fertile and densely populated.
It is about 34 km. from Naugarh Railway Station on the North-Eastern Railway of India. Buddha, Known as the Lord of Asia, was born in Lumbini during the full moon day in the month of Baisakh in 623 BC. He was born under a sal (Shorea Robusta) tree when Mayadevi was going to her maternal town on the occasion of delivery.
We visit the famous places in Lumbini and stay overnight in the hotel nearby.
The drive from Lumbini to Tansen takes around 7 hours and we take a break in Tansen town to see the beautiful mountain scenery and the town. Tansen is famous for its handicraft products which are popular among Nepalese especially the Nepali cap and decorative items made from brass. We drive through the hilly reason of Nepal which means the drive is scenic and the views of the rivers and waterfalls are really beautiful. Upon arrival in Pokhara Mac Tours and Travels will transfer you the hotel. Afternoon is free to explore the famous lake side with the views of the fisherman and tourist boating in the Phewa Lake.
After breakfast we start our day trip with a wooden boat in the Phewa Lake. We cross the lake and arrive in the village other side of the lake. Mac Tours and Travels experienced guide will take you through the fisherman villages and jungles to the famous World Peace Pagoda. The Pagoda is situated on the hill top so the view of the Annapurna Mountains, Phewa Lake and Pokhara city is clearly seen from here. After spending some time here we hike back to the hotel. After lunch, we take you to the famous sightseeing spots in Pokhara. Afternoon is at leisure and to be prepared for our tour to Muktinath, high up in the Himalayas situated at 3800m.
Early morning we drive to the airport to catch our flight to Jomsom. The flight is around 20 minutes and beautiful mountain scenery is seen with this flight. We land in Jomsom, a small town, headquarter of the Mustang district. After receiving our bags we walk for 5 minutes to the hotel where we have our breakfast. In the meantime, Mac Trek will arrange a jeep drive to Muktinath. It takes around 2 hours to reach Muktinath. The beautiful scenery of this region, monasteries and beautiful villages makes. Upon arrival in Muktinath, our guide takes you to Muknath Temple. After visit temple, explore Muktinath area and overnight stay at Lodge.
After breakfast drive to Jomsom. Afternoon visit beautiful Marpha village and back to the hotel. Marpha is a village that lies in the wind swept Kali Gandaki valley. Marpha is famous for it's Apples and Apple Brandy.
The flights to and from Jomsom is always in the morning because of the high wind in the afternoon. We take the early flight back to Pokhara where Mac Tours and Travels comfortable vehicle waits you to transfer you to the place Kurintar. Kurintar is the place where Manakamana Cable Car operates its cable car ride to the famous Manakamana Temple. The ride is approx 10 minutes one way, but this ride is one of the best cable car rides in the world. We proceed further to the resort situated in the river banks for our overnight stay.
This is an easy day of our tour. We drive around 5 hours from Kurintar to a beautiful hill station Nagarkot, famous for sunrise and sunset tours. After checking in the hotel we relax and enjoy the evening sunset view. We stay overnight in Nagarkot.
Early morning you will get a wakeup call before sunrise because the view of the mountains with sunrise is spectacular. After breakfast we pack up our bags for a short ride to Bhaktapur. After checking in the hotel in Bhaktapur town, we start to explore this ancient town Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur town is the home of Newars and this town is really a living museum. Beautiful temples, old durbar squares and the locals dressed up in their original custom are the highlights of this place.
After breakfast, we start our trip to Patan city. Patan city is famous for its products of statues, handicraft and beautiful durbar square. Durbar square means the open place in front of former palaces where beautiful temples are built. We continue our trip with a visit to Pashupatinath temple a famous shrine for Hindus and to Boudha Stupa. After finishing your sightseeing trip we transfer you to your hotel. Afternoon is free to explore the city on your own.
The purpose to add this day in this itinerary is to add a backup day in case your tour gets delayed to various reasons. If everything goes according to the plan you can use this day for shopping and visiting the city on your own. Swyambunath (often call as Monkey Temple) and the Kathmandu durbar square are in the walking distance from your hotel. In the afternoon a farewell dinner is organized by your travel agent Mac Tours and Travels. The dinner is followed by a cultural dance from all over Nepal, a perfect program to end your memorable trip to Nepal.
Depending on the departure time, Mac Tours and Travels will send the vehicle to your hotel to transfer you to the airport. We wish you a happy journey back home.
